Woman Killed by Passing Pickup

At about 9:15 pm on Sunday, August 4th, a woman stopped her vehicle on the shoulder of Queenston Blvd. near Silver Sky Lane in northwest Harris County to put up signs about an estate sale. As she was getting back into her vehicle, she was struck and killed by a passing 2016 Toyota Tundra pickup. According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies on the scene, the roadway where this tragedy occurred is unlit and very dark at night and the deceased victim failed to yield the right-of-way to the on-coming pickup. The pickup’s driver remained at the scene, was unimpaired and was cooperating with the investigating deputies. No charges are expected to be filed.

I have said many times that if you venture onto any of Houston’s roadways as a pedestrian, you are quite literally taking your life in your hands. The law offers scant sympathy for run-over victims unless the driver really screws up. If you or a loved one is ever injured in an incident like this one, please consider calling us. We have dealt with them for a very long time and we can accurately assess the incident and advise you as to your rights and potential remedies.
