Well, That’s Yucky!
Just after midnight on Friday, November 2nd, an 18-wheeler carrying heavy oilfield drilling equipment rear-ended a small medical supplies van on SH 105 east of Cut and Shoot in Montgomery County. The impact and sudden stop forced some of the big rig’s equipment load to shift right into the cab’s sleeping compartment which fortunately was unoccupied. The van’s driver was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with a leg injury, but the worst part of the incident was that the collision tore off the rear of the van, scattering medical supplies including hundreds of syringes all over the highway. This required a Hazmat International team to come out to clean up the mess over a period of many hours. Investigation of the collision remains underway and as of now no citations have been issued.
