Victim of 2 Hit-and-Runs Dies

The glue of human compassion and shared empathy sure seems to be running water-thin in the veins of many Americans these days. According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies on the scene, at about 10:30 pm on Thursday, February 7th, a 26-year-old man was struck while standing in the northbound lane of F.M. Road 2100 near North Diamondhead Blvd., in Crosby. Following that collision, the vehicle which struck the victim went off the road, hit a ditch and stopped. However, instead of going to check on the victim and help him, the driver fled. A short time later, as the victim still lay in the roadway, a pickup ran over him…and fled. The victim was still alive when deputies arrived and he was Life Flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, but he died early Friday morning. Investigation of this tragedy continues and a search is underway for both of the cowardly and selfish drivers. Crime Stoppers has issued a reward and asks that anyone with helpful information to please call it, at 713-222-8477, or the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies stated that when they are apprehended, both drivers will face criminal charges.
