Utility Worker Hit and Killed
At about 10:40 pm on Monday, April 1st an adult male electrical utility worker assisting in the movement of a large piece of industrial equipment down Highway 3 near Clear Lake City Blvd., by checking the height of power lines the load was approaching to insure clearance, was struck and killed by a passing motorist. First responders rushed to the scene but the worker was dead by the time they arrived. The driver who struck him remained on the scene and was cooperative with police. The driver was not intoxicated or speeding, so no charges have been filed, but investigation of the tragedy continues.
