Small Girl Hit by School Bus Dies
At 7:30 am on Tuesday, November 17th, a 6-year-old girl was running late to catch her school bus in the 2200 block of North First Street in Conroe and was tragically struck by the bus as she ran in front of it. The highly distraught driver of the bus told arriving Conroe Police officers that she never saw the child before the collision. First responders performed CPR on the small victim in the ambulance en route to Texas Children’s Hospital in The Woodlands, but she was pronounced dead on arrival. A dashcam in the school bus corroborated the driver’s story, as did numerous witnesses, but investigation of the tragedy continues so police can have a complete picture of what happened. Both the Conroe ISD and the Conroe Police issued statements of condolences to the heartbroken family and to the general public.
