School Bus Rollover Injures 8
On the afternoon of Thursday, October 10th, a Huntsville ISD school bus transporting part of Huntsville High School’s freshman football team to a game against a Montgomery ISD team crashed and rolled over on FM 149 near Bethel Road in Montgomery County. According to the County Sheriff’s deputies on the scene, 7 students and 1 adult were taken by ambulances to Conroe Regional Hospital for treatment of varying degrees of injuries. And, with EMS personnel on board, another HISD bus took 13 other students and 2 adults to another nearby hospital to be checked out as a precaution. A second bus carrying 15 other students which was following the first bus but not involved in its crash returned to the school and the game the students were traveling to was postponed. The school district immediately notified the parents of all the involved students and issued a statement of concern and condolence. Investigation of the cause of the mishap continues.
