Road Rage Kills Innocent Man

At about 2:15 am on Monday, October 22nd, two vehicles involved in a rolling road rage incident both ran a red light, near Airline and I-45 in northwest Houston, simultaneously slamming into a van driven by a an uninvolved man on his way to work, killing him upon impact. According to HPD officers on the scene, a total of six occupants of the vehicles which hit the van, another van and a sedan, were all taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Several of those victims reported that the two vehicles became involved in a road rage incident at another location, which escalated as they both sped away from it, resulting in the fatal collision a short time later. At the hospital, the drivers of both of those vehicles will be tested for the presence of alcohol and, regardless, numerous charges are pending against each of them.

There is no question that public civility and patience with each others’ mistakes seem to be at an all-time low these days. And, unfortunately, that often translates into aggressive and rude driving on Houston’s streets. The worst part is that speeding, recklessly driven vehicles are very dangerous and the price for such childish and dangerous conduct is often paid by innocents, like the helpless victim here. If you or a loved one is ever injured by another raging driver, please consider calling us. We will do our very best to insure that the offending bully is held fully accountable.
