Pedestrian Struck and Killed

At about 7:30 am on Wednesday, January 29th, a woman walking alongside the pavement in the 5000 block of Aldine Bender Road in northeast Harris County was struck by a passing vehicle and killed upon impact. According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies on the scene, the vehicle’s driver did not appear to be speeding, was not intoxicated and remained at the scene, cooperating with the deputies. No citations are expected to be issued, but Aldine Bend was closed for a couple of hours in both directions to allow for a complete on-site investigation and removal of the victim’s remains. Follow-up investigation will include a routine autopsy to see if there is an explanation as to how or why the victim wandered into traffic. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has asked that anyone with information about this tragedy please call them to report it.

In circumstances like this it is a regrettable reality that Texas law heavily favors drivers over pedestrians. But, if you or a loved one is ever injured in a vehicle-pedestrian collision, please consider calling us. We will do our best to see if a remedy is possible.
