Pedestrian Killed in 2-Vehicle Runovers
At about 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 18th a woman driving westbound on Tidwell near Park Trail in northeast Harris County observed an on-coming driver flashing his lights at her. Immediately thereafter she saw a man lying on the pavement right in front of her, but she was unable to stop in time to avoid running over him. She stopped immediately and called 911. When Harris County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene, they determined that the victim, a man in his 20s or 30s, had been hit by another vehicle which fled the scene. An autopsy will be performed to confirm whether or not the victim was already deceased when the woman ran over him. No charges are expected against her, but a search is underway to find the driver who first hit the victim and then ran away. Anyone with information about that driver is asked to call Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
