Mall Patron Viciously Attacked
At about 8:30 am on Monday, February 26th, just after a 31-year-old Houston woman walked into a public restroom at the Memorial City Mall she was attacked from behind by an unseen assailant who threw a plastic trash bag over her head, strangled her into unconsciousness and then, as she collapsed onto the floor, severely kicked her several times. Witnesses saw an adult black male, estimated to be 25 to 35 years old, 5’10” to 6’ tall and about 160 to 180 pounds flee the restroom and board a southbound METRO bus on Gesner. The victim was transported to an area hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive her injuries. HPD officers are looking for the assailant and trying to establish a motive for this assault.
