Freeway Pedestrian Hit, Killed

At about 6:10 am on Friday, March 26th, a man walking into the westbound traffic lanes of the Katy Freeway near Fry Road was hit by a vehicle traveling at highway speed and killed upon impact. HPD officers on the scene closed all westbound freeway and feeder road lanes to allow completion of their on-site investigation. It is presently unclear as to why the man walked onto the freeway and further investigation will include routine toxicology tests to see if alcohol or a medical infirmity might have been involved.
