Former Pasadena Official Killed in Pedestrian Accident

In the late afternoon of Monday, July 8th, former Pasadena Dist. E councilwoman and mayor pro tem Patricia Riley was struck by a pickup truck as she was walking across the parking lot of the Macro-Plaza Mall, just a few feet from City Hall located in the 100 block of Pasadena Town Square, in Pasadena. She was Life Flighted to an area hospital in critical condition, but she died shortly after arrival. City officials expressed shock and sadness at her untimely passing and issued a statement of condolences to her family. She was a longtime Pasadena resident and served in the City Council from 1991 to 1999, and as was mayor pro tem in 1998-1999. According to Pasadena Police officers on the scene, the driver of the pickup remained at the scene and was cooperative, and no charges will be filed in the tragic case.
