Erratic Driver Hits House and Dies

At about 1:30 am on Saturday, February 2nd, an adult male driver of a Saturn station wagon was killed in the 7900 block of Rockhill Street in southeast Houston when he side-swiped a pickup while speeding westbound on the street, lost control, swerved into a residence’s yard, struck some decorative boulders, flipped and smashed into the front of the house. There was a woman home at the time of the crash who was awakened and terrified, but otherwise uninjured. The Saturn’s driver was killed upon impact. There was no immediate indication as to whether the pickup was moving at the time it was side-swiped and, if so, whether its driver was injured. Investigation continues as to why the Saturn’s deceased driver was driving erratically and speeding.
