Drunk Woman with Pot in Vehicle Hits HPD Cruiser

At about 3:15 am on Sunday, August 26th, a 22-year-old Houston woman was driving her Hyundai Elantra eastbound on Yellowstone on Houston’s south side, when she suddenly veered across the centerline and sideswiped a westbound HPD cruiser driven by an on-duty HPD officer. Neither driver was seriously injured in the incident, but as soon as other officers arrived on the scene, the woman was determined by field sobriety tests to be significantly intoxicated. Additionally, a search of her vehicle revealed that she was carrying a cache of pot. She was treated at the scene and then arrested on several charges. She currently remains jailed pending the posting of a bond.

Ummm… not the best way to end a weekend. Normally I encourage folks who have been in vehicle collisions to consider calling us because we can usually help. But, hitting a patrol cruiser when you’re drunk and carrying illegal drugs are pretty much a deal breaker. So, if you find yourself in a situation like the one this young woman is in, you might want to consider obtaining the best criminal representation you can afford instead.
