At about 11:30 pm on Thursday, April 11th, an Infiniti carrying two women in their 20s rear-ended an SUV driven by a mother while headed southbound on Highway 249 near Beltway 8 in northwest Harris County. The SUV has slowed briefly in traffic and was struck with such force that its entire back end was crushed.
The mother was injured and her two passengers, her 3-year-old and 12-year-old sons, were more severely injured. All three were taken to an area hospital in various conditions, but the older boy died before arrival. According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies on the scene, the deceased victim was not wearing a seatbelt.

The woman driving the Infinity showed obvious signs of intoxication and she was taken for a mandatory blood test to confirm that. If the test comes back positive she will be charged with intoxication manslaughter and other related charges. Neither of those women was hurt in the crash.
