Drunk Driver Injures Woman Not Wearing Seat Belt
At about 12:00 am on Tuesday, June 9th, a man in his 20s drove his Kia SUV southbound in the northbound lanes in the 10200 block of Spring Cypress Road in the Klein area of northwest Harris County and collided head-on with a small Nissan sedan driven by a woman who was not wearing a seat belt. The Kia’s driver was unhurt, but the woman driving the Nissan was critically injured and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital in grave condition. It is not yet clear if she will survive her extensive injuries. Harris County Sheriff’s deputies on the scene reported that the man driving the Kia was highly intoxicated, and he was arrested and has been charged with felony intoxication assault. If the woman dies, that charge will be upgraded.
