Crashes Kill Speeding Driver, Injure 2
At about 10:00 pm on Saturday, July 18th, a man driving a Dodge Charger at a high rate of speed in the 19900 block of Atascocita Shores in northeast Harris County veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into a Toyota Tundra, which was stopped at a red light, and then hit two other vehicles before flipping and catching on fire.
The speeding driver was killed and an adult female passenger in the Charger, who was pulled from the flaming wreckage by good Samaritans and tended to until first responders could arrive, was critically injured and Life Flighted to an area hospital. The driver of the Tundra was also seriously injured and taken by ambulance to the same hospital. No other injuries were initially reported and investigation of the incident by Harris County Sheriff’s deputies continues, which will include autopsy toxicology tests to determine if alcohol was involved.
