Church Van Crash Injures Several Teens
At about 3:40 pm on Wednesday, June 27th, as an out-of-town church van proceeded through a green light at the intersection of Lowry Expressway feeder road and Century Blvd. in Texas City, it was struck broadside by an eastbound Nissan Altima which ran a red light. According to Texas City Police officers on the scene, 12 to 14 teenagers who were passengers in the van were taken to area hospital with various levels of non-life-threatening injuries. All of the victims were between the ages of 14 to 18 years old. Initial reports did not indicate whether the Altima’s driver was also injured and investigation of the incident continues.
