Body of Drowned Fisherman Recovered
A man who was recreationally fishing along Brays Bayou in the 8000 block of Harrisburg suddenly jumped into the water at about 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22nd, and when he didn’t resurface witnesses called 911. Rescue crews and divers from HPD and the U.S. Coast Guard searched the area and at about 10:30 pm they finally found the man’s body submerged in several feet of water not far from where he jumped in. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Jumping into any body of murky water is exceedingly dangerous.
