Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run

At about 7:49 pm on Tuesday, January 5th, an adult male bicyclist riding on the sidewalk along Fondren Road in west Houston tried to cross at the intersection with Westheimer with the light and was struck by a vehicle turning onto Westheimer. The driver of that vehicle fled without stopping to render aid. The victim was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital’s trauma center in critical condition, but he died shortly after arrival. HPD officers are continuing to investigate this tragedy, and they have several clues. Once the hit-and-run driver is apprehended, he or she will face several criminal charges.
