5-Vehicle Crash Critically Injures 2 Kids
At about 6:40 am on Tuesday, July 30th, five vehicles, including an 18-wheeler, crashed in the westbound lanes of the Katy Freeway at Greenhouse Road in west Houston. According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies on the scene, the driver of one of those vehicles, a Dodge Ram pickup, lost control and slammed into another vehicle that was stopped and two kids in the pickup, a 3-year-old little girl and an 8-year-old boy, were critically injured. Both of the victims were Life Flighted to Houston Memorial Hospital, but there was no immediate word as to whether they are expected to survive their injuries. Several other people were taken by ambulances to area hospitals with varying degrees of non-life-threatening injuries. As of the present time, no citations have been issued and investigation of the crash continues. The freeway has since reopened.
