In yet another in a recent spate of hit-and-run collisions, at about 10:15 pm on Monday, September 9th, two men were crossing the street on Main Street near Dunlap Street in southwest Houston when a woman driving a Toyota sedan northbound on Main hit them and kept on going. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital in critical condition. The woman drove to a Shell station about a mile from the crash scene and called her family. They met her and persuaded her to return to the crash site to talk with the HPD officers who were working the incident. She was determined not to be intoxicated and was not charged.
